two reasons for doing this study - I am always fascinated by "small" intimate gestures from my models - tying up hair, touching their neck absent mindedly etc - and my model, after saturday's drawing let me photograph her while she made up her face - really a theatrical make up - so I took hundreds of shots of her doing this.... the other reason is that I think I should be able to use acrylic in a more painterly way than I do - almost in the way I use pastels. anyway - this is a first study....
Indeed, you acrylic work is a very consistent look to your pastels - now I don't know which is better. The pastels have purer more intense color, but the acrylics have a more subtle impressionistic dreamy look - hmmm, well you just have to keep doing both. Barrie
as I get more ancient - and see the lack of light at the end of the tunnel I keep wanting to concentrate on one area - but I have a real "grass is greener" mentality
thank you - have always enjoyed watching models tying their hair , dressing etc ( the Degas in me) - have another girl coming on Wednesday to do similar posing
